new flippers

Image
I had hoped to get a new surf mat but they're not in vogie anymore. I settled for some new flippers, or fons, that I have just christened on all surf at One M ile Beach. The waves were hard to crack, but the fins helped &_being on the water was a blast. This tam beach is popular with tourists & learning surfers,_so it has a relaxed, dorky & cosmopolitan vibe  But I kind of enjoy the chill, fin feeling Jere when compared to chic uptight cloyong/claustrophobic  of my old local break.  Yesterday i had a bad tumble. At the risk of sounding like an old crony, ... O wasowing up a steep bank beside my"driveway" when my old boots lost their tempus grip on the planet. For a few milliseconds o did the cartoon thing of running fast and going nowhere, then the weight of the mower, its wheels were skidding too, came back at me. and I lost it. I recall rolling saodeways & backwards onto a very rocky surface & shitting myself over. breaking  bones. I copped a fe...

child immorality

today I seed to be picking up a trail of clothes, open doors, empty food containers and so on, left by my foster son. leaving the toothpaste out, was the last straw so I designed a story with a message.  a fellow staying in a large motel evacuated his room because the mattress was on fire. he walked out calmly standing on the street watching the motel catch fire while hundreds of patrons ran screaming from the building as it was razed to the ground.  the man overheard two exhausted fire chiefs discussing the cause of the blaze. He listening passively for some time, and heard his room identified as the start of the fire. He stood forwards and affirmed that indeed that was the case and stated that his mattress had caught fire. when asked whether he has started the fire, he uttered the famous line: " no, it was already on fire when I sat on it ".  I allowed my foster son to understand the personal distress and property loss caused by the fire, and of the man's decision to qu...

one month in

i go out to gather firewood from the pile and overhead  a sky full of sparkling ancient orbs exuding timelessness. but inside an 11 year old squirt struggles with his illogical brain and oppositional heart to settle into what he must know is a secure and calm home. is a minute by minute focus far removed from the life of the stars.

honestly

this week we've been discovering honesty because there's been little of it previously,  apparently.  in times past some lazy fool bought a gamers console to ruin any chance of communication,  self discipline and creativity.   after having it charged and discussing it's need to remain at home it got confiscated by a teacher.     Compounding the problem was the web of lies being generated to avoid reality and make himself look ok.  be like: - left it at school.  - can't remember,  i have a bad memory.  - (after being told i was meeting his principal next week) oh yes the teacher might have put it somewhere.  - to,  yes it was confiscated.  - i took it because my mate wanted to see it.      so we had many lies; - agreeing not too take it. - taking it.  - claiming it was lost.  - denying it had been confiscated.  - claiming he had memory loss. - the teacher misplaced it. - i didn't ...

visit 1 from new caseworkers

Image
yesterday the new team swept in and paid a visit to assess me for caring,  when in fact it may all be going permanent within the week.  the older worker and i had a little history; although we'd never met,  she was teaching at college when i was studying welfare. upon meeting over 20 years on, i read her as being committed to the job of caring and casually knowledgeable. her offsider despite being distracting attractive,  was also buried deep within her job.   the topic of carer payment was mentioned and as usual swept under the carpet and not dwelled upon by me. the lead worker was recommended I be paid at a higher rate due to the care requirements. i shrugged it off with a nod of thanks before casually checking online later to be quite surprised at what it would mean for me. the basic rate would see me adding the carer payment on to supplement my gardening income.  the higher payment is sufficient for me to consider reducing my mowing sch...

getting close to full time

this weekend just passed saw us have Harry over again and hopefully and it will be his last "visit" before permanent care next weekend.   things went well,  on the morning of his arrival we shot of and bought sausages and fresh bread which we barbequed for lunch. and apart from only having spicy barbeque sauce instead of plain tomato, it went down well.     we later bought a life jacket and fishing rod. the fishing was lousy but he has a swim in the rover at Morpeth.   that evening we hung out,  Mia was away but it gave Joe and harry time to play computer games.  the following morning Harry reckoned it was his first sleep-in for five years.  that may have been an exaggeration, but it clearly demonstrated how relaxed and happy he was.   today's task was to go sailing and we did.  the bay was lively with big winds and tide flows,  so we solved under main alone.  as usual Harry wanted to control eve...

things for our little fellow to learn

I've been tossing about a list of things that we could offer Harry by way of learning a hobby. Joe has an interest in online gaming,  ahead building.. Mia,  horseriding. And i could show him sailing,  cycling,  fishing,  gardening.
